Jo Gibbs – 73 Clapham Road, Oval SW9 0HY

Jo Gibbs is a London-based artist whose work transforms overlooked, discarded and domestic materials, shifting how they are seen and valued. Working across etched and gilded glass, mirror, found objects, egg tempera and assemblage, she combines traditional techniques with unexpected materials and interventions.

Her work moves between humour and unease, often playing with perception and the point at which an ordinary object becomes something else. Recent works include Deadpan, in which an ordinary handleless glass saucepan lid is transformed to resemble an antique convex mirror; Buttoned Up, using vintage cigarette cards and buttons; and sculptural works made from found and repurposed materials.

For Lambeth Open, Jo will open her Oval home, where artworks are displayed throughout the domestic space alongside works in progress. Web www.jogibbslondon.com or Instagram @jogibbslondon
